A new square named after one of Uzbekistan’s ancient cities, Samarkand, has been inaugurated in the French city of Digne-les-Bains, the administrative centre of Alpes de Haute Provence. The days of Uzbekistan in Digne-les-Bains were held on 23-25 September to mark the opening of the new square as well as the 20th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.
