Documentary on Central Asian astronomer wins Kineo Prize for Best Foreign Documentary at Venice Film Festival

“Ulugh Beg. The Man Who Unlocked The Universe” has won the Kineo Prize for The Best Foreign Documentary at the 74th Venice International Film Festival.

Produced by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva and Timur Tillyaev, and directed by Bakhodir Yuldashev, the documentary feature explores the life and scientific legacies of Ulugh Beg, astronomer extraordinaire, who ruled Samarkand in the fifteenth century.

In July the film won the Best Documentary Award at the Ischia Film Festival.
