Uzbek gymnasts qualified for Rio 2016 Olympic games

On behalf of Uzbekistan’s Gymnastics Federation, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to our gymnasts who have qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

After qualifying for Rio 2016, Uzbekistan’s Oksana Chusovitina (WAG) has become the first female gymnast to compete in a record-setting seventh Olympic Games, adding another chapter to her glittering and inspirational career.

collage.gymnasticsWe are also immensely proud that for the first time in the history of Uzbek sports, Uzbekistan’s rhythmic gymnastics group team – comprising Louisa Ganieva, Zarina Kurbanova, Samira Amirova, Valeriya Davydovа, Guzal Raymanova and Martha Rostoburova – has qualified for the Olympic Games.

Other Uzbek gymnasts who participated in the Final Gymnastics Qualifier, which ran from 16 April to 22 April in Rio, and have earned their places in the Olympics are Anton Fokin (MAG) and Anastasiya Serdyukova (RG). Ekaterina Khilko and Anna Kasparyan (TRA) secured one license for the Rio Olympics.
